Abstract

Biomedical engineering has become a critical driver of innovation in modern healthcare by integrating engineering principles with medical and biological sciences. The rapid advancement of smart medical devices, wearable technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed traditional healthcare delivery systems into intelligent, data-driven platforms. AI-enabled diagnostic systems improve accuracy, speed, and personalization of medical decision-making, while smart medical devices facilitate continuous monitoring and remote healthcare. This research paper presents a comprehensive analysis of engineering innovations in healthcare, focusing on smart medical devices and AI-based diagnostic systems. The study explores device architectures, sensing technologies, data analytics, regulatory considerations, and real-world clinical applications. Challenges related to data security, ethical concerns, and system interoperability are also discussed. The findings highlight that AI-driven biomedical systems significantly enhance healthcare quality, accessibility, and efficiency.
